Kota Kinabalu City Tour Day Trip

Kota Kinabalu is situated on the tropical island of Borneo, and is the state capital of the Malaysian state Sabah, which is one of the two states of East Malaysia.

The location of the city is absolutely amazing; and from the airport it is just a short ride to mostly any hotel. Kota Kinabalu is not only an instant resort city but also the perfect place for business, congresses and meetings. The business district is centrally located - with government, banks and commercial offices. 



Itinerary

Meet on arrival or at hotel.

Proceed to tour the City of Kota Kinabalu, the capital of the State of Sabah. The tour will include a photo stop at Sabah State Mosque with its gold inlaid onion dome, the largest dome of its type in Malaysia. Visit the Chinese Buddhist Temple where a huge statue of “Kuan Yin”, the goddess of mercy who welcomes and blesses all who visit the temple.

Proceed to the tallest building in Kota Kinabalu, Yayasan Sabah Tower, officially known as Menara Tun Mustapha. Built in 1977, this magnificent 30-storey circular glass sculpture that reaches 122 meters high is one of the few hanging structure type of building in the world. Also, pay a heritage educational visit to Sabah Museum to learn more about its unique culture and history.

Along the way, drive pass Kampung Likas and the Likas Wetland, which is a natural bird sanctuary, before arriving at Filipino Market where you can pick up cheap and unique handicrafts, souvenirs and foodstuffs. You may wish to bring back some dried seafood from the seafood product shop.
