Mount Kinabalu is a prominent mountain on the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia. It is located in the East Malaysian state of Sabah and is protected as Kinabalu National Park, a World Heritage Site. Mount Kinabalu is the highest peak in Borneo's Crocker Range. It is the highest mountain in the Malay Archipelago. Mount Kinabalu is also the 20th most prominent mountain in the world by topographic prominence.

 

In Borneo, deep in Sarawak’s Mulu Caves National Park, lies the most spectacular caves on earth. Over millennia the flow of water draining from the slopes of Mulu Caves towards the sea has cut deep gorges through the Park’s limestone mountains and, within the rock itself, a complex network of vast caves has been formed.

 

What to bring if you wish to trek Mt Kinabalu and Mulu Caves:

1) Mt Kinabalu List: Warm clothings for climbing mt kinabalu, Shoes for wet hiking, Raingear, Flashlight, mosquito repellent, torchlight, wind breaker,  change of clothes, drinking water, high energy food (chocolates, nuts, raisins, glucose) , headache tablets, sun block, lip gloss, plasters, insect repellent, binoculars, camera, water proof bag for camera, torchlight, extra socks, towel, gloves, hat mask, tissue paper. and 2) Mulu Caves List: Good trekking shoes for the Show Caves. Also bring along your swimming suit if you wish to swim at the Clearwater Spring at Mulu National Park,

 

 



Itinerary

Flight Detail:

Ex Miri depart on MH3630 STD 0920hrs (Morning Flight)

Ex Miri depart on MH3255 / MH3632 STD 1345hrs (Afternoon Flight)

Ex Kota Kinabalu - Every Tuesday, Friday & Sunday depart on MH3257 STD 1405hrs

Ex Kuching - Daily depart on MH3823 / MH3290 STD 1055hrs

 

Itinerary

 
Day 1: Meet at Kota Kinabalu airport from your arrival flight at your arrival time for us to pick you up and transfer to your choice of hotel. We recommend you to stay at either 4 star Sabah Oriental Hotel  in city area . Rest of day is free and easy. Overnight at hotel.
 
 
 
Day 2: After early breakfast, we leave hotel for a over 2 hours drive to Kinabalu Park and proceed to the starting point of your mountain scaling trip. One extraordinary sign is that as your climb the vegetation changes from oak and chestnut forest to mossy forest and eventually to alphine vegetation when you reach at 11000’ at the mountain hut and have dinner at Laban rata. ( Breakfast, Packed lunch, Dinner )
 
 
Day 3: This morning at 0300hrs we ascend to the summit of Mt Kinabalu in time for the sunrise. We then return to Laban Rata for your breakfast before descend to Park HQ. Have your lunch at Balsam Café and we proceed to travel overland to Kota Kinabalu & check in to hotel. Dinner at your own arrangement 7 overnight.

Day 4 : After breakfast, free until check out at 1000hrs & we transfer you to Kota-Kinabalu Airport for your flight to Mulu on MH3254 etd 1230hrs. Lunch at your own at Kota-Kinabalu Airport. Arrive Mulu airport at 1415hrs, meet your guide and transfer by van to Park HQ  for a visit to Deer and Lang’s Cave. We trek along the plant walk ( 3 km) through the
rainforest. Explore the largest cave passage in the world- DEER CAVE and LANG’S CAVE. Relax at the open air observatory for an opportunity witness the phenomenon exodus of BATS out of the caves, spiraling high overhead
 
and ascend to the sky where they will search for food. We then returned to the Park and transfer to Benarat Lodge to check in. Dinner & overnight. ( Breakfast / Dinner)
 
 
Day 5 : Breakfast. Take a morning longtail boat ride to visit Batu Bungan Penan Settlement where you are able to purchase the local handicraft made by the Penan tribe Go by boat to the CAVE OF THE WINDS with is tall, slender stalagmites, then on to the source of the CLEARWATER RIVER, see the underground river and visit the dry passage of the LADY’S CAVE. Swim at the Clearwater Spring. After picnic lunch at the Clearwater Pavilion, continue your journey by longtail boat to Kuala Berar or Long Litut. The 8km trek is through beautiful rainforest and along the Litut river to Melinau Camp (Camp 5) where we stay overnight. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
 
Day 6 : Early breakfast. Begin the 2.4km steep trek to the Pinnacles viewpoint at 1750 m. Along this trail are many orchids, pitcher plants and tiny Tree Shrews foraging for food. The pinnacles of Mulu National Park are a collection of 45 meter high, limestone needles that cling to the side of Gunung Api (Volcano). The hike to the viewpoint overlooking the pinnacles is a tough and challenging mountain climb. However, trekkers are rewarded with a spectacular view of a silver-grey forest of stone, poking up through the surrounding jungle. Return to Camp 5 for a refreshing swim and another overnight stay. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
 
 
Day 7 : 0730 hrs, breakfast. We retrace back from Camp 5 to Kuala Litut then take a boat ride down to along Melinau River then to Mulu Airport for your flight departure to Kota-Kinabalu on MH3254 etd 1245hrs. Tour End.(Breakfast)
